Real Reform for ECD
[PRESS RELEASE] The People’s Manifesto for ECD is a good place to start for the 7th Administration.
Ahead of elections on 29 May, hundreds of advocates for young children took to the streets of Johannesburg to call on all political parties to implement the People’s Manifesto for Early Childhood Development (ECD) between 2024 – 2029. Now that the new administration has opened Parliament, with President Cyril Ramaphosa mentioning an objective to achieve universal access to ECD and re-emphasising this objective in his reply to the debate on his Opening of Parliament Address, we want to emphasise that there’s no need to reinvent the wheel.
The People’s Manifesto for ECD, a mandate supported by over 6000 people and 170 organisations, is a good place to start for the 7th Administration.
